Factions w/ Heroes? - Guild Wars Forums

Greetings GWG Community,

I've owned the original campaign since release, but have just returned to GW after a long hiatus. In order to get interested again, I purchased the Factions campaign title.

My question is; if I purchase Nightfall as well (or the expansion), will it allow me to use the Nightfall-type heroes in the Factions' PvE campaign, and/or with my Factions' created characters in PvP?

Yes. You can use your heroes in any campaign, once you get them.

Yes.

Characters, heroes, everything transfers, it's pretty much one game with content add ons.

You can absolutely use heroes in factions - the key is you have to go to NF or GWEN and get them first. Once you have your heroes, though, you can bring them to pretty much any area in the 3 campaigns and GWEN; the only limitation is some solo-mission areas where you are by yourself, or in some NF quests where you need to bring a specific hero...

As far as PvP goes, it really doesn't matter which campaign the character is originally from. Just be aware that there are some skills that are designated "PvE only" - but they are generally labeled as such...

PvE: Yes, Nightfall is the ONLY third stand alone Guild Wars game that introduces heroes. However you need to remember that because of this if you wanted to have access to heroes in Factions or Prophecies, then you would need to take your character(s) to Nightfall. Furthermore if you did not know, the first expansion Guild Wars: Eye of the North introduces heroes as well.

PvP: For your PvP question, yes as well, but getting heroes in PvP is different than PvE. You can either get your heroes in PvE which will also unlock them in PvP, or you could unlock heroes in PvP using faction.
